Kratom Encyclopedia

Methodology and editorial policy

21+ only. Kratom is not approved by the FDA for any medical use, and nothing here is medical advice.

Measured vs reported

Every page separates what was measured (lab analyses, field studies, dated batch lab reports) from what people report (survey ratings of effects). The two are shown in different blocks and never mixed. Strain names are treated as market categories: the only peer-reviewed lab comparison of strain-labelled products found no significant difference in their alkaloids, so we never print alkaloid numbers as a property of a strain.

Sources

Science comes from peer-reviewed studies and government agencies (NIDA, FDA, CDC), each quoted from the paper or page with the date we checked it — see the research library. We write no dosing content.

State law

Each state page cites the statute, rule or bill and the date we checked it on the state's own site. Pages are re-checked at least every 60 days; a state whose 2026 change we haven't confirmed on a primary source stays unpublished. Pages summarise the law and are not legal advice.

Partner policy

Kratom Country and Super Speciosa are partner retailers: the site's owner is paid by them for marketing work. Where-to-buy blocks are labelled “Partner”, state the relationship, appear below the science, and list each retailer's own no-ship states. Partners never change what a page says about the science or the law.
